Weighing Candidates for Virginia Governor, VEA Sides with Creigh Deeds |

On July 23, the VEA Fund for Children and Public Education announced its support for Creigh Deeds for governor. In 18 years in the Virginia General Assembly, the Senator from Bath County has earned a 94-percent voting record from VEA. In other words, on the important issues VEA took stands on—related to school funding, instruction and employee rights, and much more—Deeds cast his vote in accord with VEA 94 percent of the time. VEA members around the state are making plans to come to the Capitol in Richmond to support proper funding of public schools. Why not join them? Policymakers over the next few months will be making critical decisions on school budgets—and they’re considering a cap on state spending that will harm programs and cut jobs. Come to the rally on Wednesday, August 19, at
